Hi World!
First I am an animal/nature enthusiast! I am happiest outdoors and have been blessed by living all over the United States as well as traveling abroad.
My love and interest of Nature began as a child, when I started feeding the backyard birds, squirrels, chipmunks, etc., in each state my family resided in. I became interested in drawing at an early age; however I eventually put my art to the side while I pursued other interests. In 2017, I reconnected with my creative side and began sketching from my photographs! I completed a few courses at Dunedin Fine Art Center, Dunedin, FL, and was gratified to win an award the first Exhibition I entered.
This year, 2023, my entry to Tampa Bay Magazine's Photography Contest Won a placement in the Sept/Oct issue; the 2018 had as well!! I have also been honored with acceptance into the well-known annual art fund raiser, "Martinis and Matisse" in Clearwater, FL ; I have since been invited back four years now!
I am a Board of Director for Clearwater Arts Alliance, member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, as well as Miniature Art Society of Florida.
I am truly fortunate in having a studio in my home overlooking the Gulf Bay Channel; perfect lighting and scenery every day!
My mission and passion is to bring awareness to our endangered species by representing them through my art and photography.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
My inspiration began as a child seeing my Aunt's (professional) art works in Milw, WI); as well as Albrecht Durer.
My techniques began in childhood sketches; became fine-tuned in High School Art Class and then finally in accredited classes. My drawings are mainly graphite pencils and oil-based colored pencils; the lost art of Silverpoint, as well as my calligraphy works
A wonderful career boost was winning an Honorable Mention in my first juried art show in 2018: themed "Big Eyes". I entered a pencil drawing of an Osprey (I had photographed and enlarged the wonderful eyes!).
